Whether you’re seeking relaxation, action and adventure, or a bit of both, limitless activities await you in Hagerstown. Take an afternoon hike along one of three area national and/or regional recreation trails. Enjoy a picnic at one of the city’s many scenic parks. Nestled in the south end of Hagerstown, City Park offers 50 acres of fabulous outdoor space and an array of fun activities. City Park is also home to the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, Mansion House Art Gallery, Western Maryland 202 Locomotive Display and Museum, and the Hager House and Museum.
In the mood for a round of golf? Spend the day at one of five local courses, including the Greens at Hamilton Run and the spectacular Black Rock Golf Course.
If dirt, loud noises and fast cars are more your speed, auto-racing enthusiasts will enjoy the Hagerstown Speedway and the Mason Dixon Dragway. You will be sure to leave the raceways with adrenaline rushing through your veins and a desire to go out and purchase a fast car of your own.
For baseball fans, Hagerstown is home to the Hagerstown Suns minor-league baseball team, a class-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. Hagerstown also offers many opportunites to participate in little league and girls softball teams. During the spring and summer months you will be sure to hear the cheers, see the swirls of dust and the lights shining bright late into the night as many adult softball games and tournaments abound at local parks.
