DESCRIPTION You’ve reconnected with old classmates on Facebook, watched a video of your new niece or nephew’s first words on YouTube, and kept in touch with professional colleagues on LinkedIn. All of this social media stuff has helped you stay connected, but what about your business? Like it or not, your clients and customers utilize social networks to share and discuss their experiences, including their experiences with your business. At this month’s Learning Lunch, Stephanie Powers of Hagerstown Community College will share tips on how to monitor the online “chatter” about your business, provide better customer service, identify stronger leads, and better promote your company and yourself with social media. About the speaker: Stephanie Powers, Business Recruitment Specialist and Program Manager at Hagerstown Community College (HCC), has managed many successful social media campaigns and worked with businesses and nonprofits to establish and maintain an online presence through various social networks. Prior to joining HCC’s Continuing Education and Community Services Division in April, 2011, Stephanie managed many successful campaigns promoting downtown York, PA as a shopping, dining and entertainment destination through her role as Events and Communications Coordinator for Downtown Inc. In addition to managing the downtown York, PA website, email campaigns and social media accounts, she also established an initiative to educate downtown merchants on the power of social media, and strategies to create an active social media presence for downtown York and its individual destinations. She is currently teaching two Continuing Education courses at HCC, Social Media Marketing on October 20, 2011 and Email Marketing on October 27, 2011. To register, contact the Chamber at 301.739.2015.
