DYNAMARK MONITORING ANNOUNCES EXPANSION IN THE CITY OF HAGERSTOWN, MD

3/8/2011

Hagerstown, MD – Dynamark Monitoring, LLC, a security and alarm company servicing commercial and residential customers, is expanding operations in Hagerstown, MD.  Dynamark has purchased a 26,000sf building on Northern Avenue and will invest approximately $1.5M to create a state-of-the-art, UL listed center which will monitor alarm signals nationwide.  Initially, the company will create 35 well-paying jobs with the potential to expand.  The facility is expected to open this summer.

The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) will provide a $70,000 conditional loan to assist with the purchase of the new Hagerstown facility and equipment costs. To complement the State’s funding, two local $25,000 conditional loans were approved for the project. One of the loans was approved by the City of Hagerstown’s Mayor and Council and the other loan from the Washington County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).

Additionally, the City of Hagerstown will utilize its Fast Track Permit Process to ensure that this project can start on schedule.

The Western Maryland Consortium will assist the company in identifying potential new employees and with a portion of the cost of training new workers.

“We are pleased to work in partnership with the City of Hagerstown and Washington County to support Dynamark’s expansion and creation of new jobs in Western Maryland,” said Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development Secretary Christian S. Johansson. “Maryland is an ideal place to start or grow a business, with our strategic location, highly educated and skilled workforce and robust business climate that continues to outperform the nation.”

“Speaking on behalf of the BOCC, we are so proud to have Dynamark here and sincerely appreciate the investment they have made in our community," said President of the BOCC, Terry L. Baker.  "We look forward to many more successes for Dynamark."

“The City of Hagerstown is proud to assist Dynamark in its expansion and in adding 35 jobs to the area’s workforce,” stated Mayor Robert E. Bruchey II. “In this challenging economic climate, this expansion is a good example of how the utilization of incentive and financing programs create plentiful opportunities for businesses looking to open, relocate, expand and use current infrastructure in our City. The project also showcases how the State, County and City can work together for the betterment of the community. The City of Hagerstown is committed to its pro-business climate and looks forward to working with Dynamark Monitoring, LLC in the future.”

According to Dynamark President Trey Alter, “We wanted to create a world class central station that responded to the evolution of the alarm industry. From day one we will be able to monitor not only alarm signals, but also video, access control, GPS, personal emergency response signals and more. I am also thrilled to be able to partner with the community I live in and love to help create more jobs in Washington County.”
