Golf Season in Full Swing!
3/18/2012
As the spring season begins, one of America’s favorite pastimes is back in business in the city of Hagerstown. The Hagerstown Greens at Hamilton Run is now re-open with plenty of improvements to check out.
The Hagerstown Greens at Hamilton Run is a nine-hole course, ideal for golfers looking to play a quick round. There are no reservations or tee times required, and the rates are competitively priced for the area.
The course was closed in December of 2011 due to budgetary considerations and also to allow time for continued upgrades and improvements to the facilities. “The course is in good shape right now,” says Rodney Tissue, City Engineer who oversees the Parks and Recreation Department. “Golf season is back and we’re ready for people to come in and see all of the changes we’re making.”
Visitors will see the most dramatic changes at the clubhouse, which is still undergoing final renovations. Tissue adds, “We’re trying to provide a 2012 golf experience and we were using a 1952 clubhouse. So within reason and within budget, the clubhouse area we have now will be modern, convenient and a nice place to be.” The new facility has a large deck where golfers can relax after their round while taking in views of South Mountain. Customers will also have a greater variety of food and beverages to enjoy. Look for a grand opening of the clubhouse on May 5th.
Coupon books are available for purchase to offer golfers additional discounts. The Hagerstown Greens at Hamilton Run is located at 2 S. Cleveland Avenue. For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Office at (301) 739-8577 ext. 169.
